For restaurants, cafés & venues

Front of house, for the calls nobody can get to.

The phone rings hardest in the middle of service, when every pair of hands is already busy. LexisGrid answers the call, the DM and the web chat the moment it lands, takes the booking with the right number of covers into your live calendar, and passes anything about allergies straight to a human.

The problem

Every call arrives at the worst possible moment.

Bookings don't come in during the quiet hour. They come at 7:15 on a Friday, at 9pm on a Sunday, and while three tables are waiting on mains. Here's where the covers actually leak out.

Service always wins

Mid-service, nobody is picking up a landline. The caller rings the next place on the list and books there instead, and you never know it happened.

Half of it isn't even a booking

Are you open Monday. Do you do gluten free. Is there parking. Can we bring a cake. Every one needs an answer before anyone commits to a table.

Group bookings need a person

A table for twelve on a Saturday isn't a normal booking. Get the covers or the sitting wrong and you've either lost the night or turned away walk-ins for nothing.

In your words

It knows your sittings, not just your opening hours.

LexisGrid answers from what you actually run — your sittings, your covers, your kitchen close, the days you don't open. It won't offer a table you can't seat, and it won't invent a policy you don't have.

Real availability, by covers. It checks the live calendar before it offers a time, so a table for eight is only offered where eight will actually fit.

Allergies go to a human. Always. It will never confirm that a dish is safe. It records the request, says a person will confirm, and flags it to you — because that answer has to come from your kitchen.

Functions captured properly. Date, headcount, occasion and budget taken in the conversation, then handed to you as a real enquiry rather than a missed call.

Instagram and Messenger included. Where a lot of bookings now start, answered the same way and landing in the same place.

table for 8 saturday night? around 7
I can do Saturday at 7:00 pm for eight — that's our second sitting, so the table is yours for the evening. Shall I hold it?
yes please. one of them is coeliac, is the pasta ok?
I've noted coeliac on the booking. I won't guess on that one — our kitchen will confirm what's safe on the night, and I'm flagging it to the team now so someone can call you before Saturday if you'd like.

Booked, Tom ✓ Saturday 7:00 pm, table of eight, coeliac noted. We'll text a confirmation now.
✓ Eight covers held on the second sitting · dietary note attached · flagged for a human to confirm
What it handles for you

What it handles on a normal Friday.

Answers the pre-service rush

The 6pm "have you got anything tonight" calls, all answered in seconds with real availability, while the floor stays on the floor.

Fills the tables that drop out

A cancellation at 5pm leaves eight covers open. The next enquiry gets offered them, instead of the table sitting empty all night.

Takes function enquiries seriously

Birthdays, work dinners, wakes. It captures the detail and hands you a real enquiry with a number attached, not a voicemail.

Answers the questions before the booking

Hours, parking, kids, BYO, dog-friendly, cakeage. All from your profile, so nobody is put off by silence.

✓ Live in days — we set it up ✓ Keeps your existing calendar & CRM ✓ No lock-in, cancel any time
Questions from venue owners

What restaurant and café owners ask us.

What does it do about allergies and dietary requirements?
It records them and escalates. LexisGrid will never tell a customer that a dish is safe for an allergy — that answer has to come from the people in your kitchen, on the night, knowing what is actually being prepped. It takes the detail, attaches it to the booking, tells the customer a person will confirm, and flags it to you. We would rather it be useless on that one question than confident and wrong.
Can it handle bookings for large groups and functions?
It captures them properly rather than trying to close them. For a normal table it books straight into your calendar. For a group above the size you set, or anything that reads like a function, it takes the date, headcount, occasion and any budget, then hands it to you as an enquiry to price and confirm yourself.
Does it work with our booking system?
It books into the live calendar your venue already runs on, so bookings appear where your floor staff already look. If you use a dedicated reservations platform, tell us which one during setup and we will connect to the calendar it publishes.
Can it take takeaway or delivery orders?
No, and we would not recommend it. Orders belong in whatever system already prints to your kitchen. LexisGrid answers the enquiry, tells the customer how to order, and captures the lead if they would rather book a table instead.
Our menu and hours change constantly. Is that a hassle?
No. You edit them on a settings page yourself and the next customer gets the new answer immediately. Change the Sunday hours at 9am and it is answering with them by 9:01, with no developer and no support ticket.
